Presentation Skills needed for a Shark Tank pitch require an authentic style, composure, and great content. Pizza Cupcake's presentation to the sharks is a great example and inspiration for anyone looking to become a more confident and effective speaker.

Have a look at the pitch:

Fantastic, right? What we can learn:

  1. Unleash the energy ❤ How can you capture the attention of your audience? To stand out of the pack, take a few risks. Bring on the energy just like Chef Andrea and Michelle did in this pitch. The Pizza Cupcake mascot 🍕 was a brilliant idea and helped break the monotony of a simple, verbal presentation. Put your audience in mind when designing a presentation and find ways to surprise and delight them.

  2. Stay Authentic Chef Andrea's journey as a chef and Michelle's experience in social media add to their credibility. They don't hide their backgrounds but instead use this to give them an authentic edge. If you would like to know more, check out the Pizza Cupcake story.

  3. Know your stuff One of the most important presentation skills is to be a content champion. Know the A-Z of the subject matter you are presenting. Chef Andrea and Michelle covered topics ranging from product recipes, nutrition values, financial, and Route to Market with ease. They know Pizza Cupcake in and out!

  4. Great Product Needless to say- a great pitch at #SharkTank is nothing without a great product. This is certainly true for Pizza Cupcake as it delivers on taste and experience e.g. flaky texture, real Marinara sauce, etc

  5. Anticipate "Push Backs" Michelle certainly did her homework before coming onto Shark Tank. She was confident of her company valuation, forecast, and potential. She even understood the Shark Tank process well and wasn't shy to challenge Lori on her offer with relevant data as backup.

  6. Share your vision It's important to lead your audience and show them the vision you have for the company. Do this with enthusiasm and openness. For example, taking Pizza Cupcake to D2C e-commerce is a bold and challenging move, but demonstrates commitment and future potential.

  7. Show your appreciation🙏 Sharks or not, your audience is important and you should make the effort to show your appreciation for their time and feedback. Small gestures go a long way.

What did you think about this pitch? What went well and what could be done better?

I would love to hear your thoughts.

Happy Presenting!
